White of Whites – January 2015

We have named the first tasting dinner of 2015 ‘White of Whites’, or Blanc de Blancs, a phrase that we use as a shorthand to refer to wines that are made from the Chardonnay grape — as far as Champagnes and white wines are concerned — and a red wine produced in Argentina by Cheval Blanc; the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes are the base for the exquisite wines from Chateau d’Yquem.

In the case of the wines we are presenting at our next gastronomic event we have an exceptional vintage Champagne, two very fine whites and a full-bodied red — that have been matched by our head chef who has devised a unique tasting menu. Each course has been created to perfectly complement the wines that will are looking forward to serving.

Pairing food and wine is something that we’re proud of here at L’Etranger and with access to some of the finest chateaux we can offer almost limitless variations. The common thread linking our food with our wines is that we’re matching some of the best food in London with the some of the best wines in the world — including Maison Ruinart, Chateau d’Yquem and Chateau Cheval Blanc — whose wines you will be savouring during the evening.
