L'Etranger was named as The Good Food Guide readers' favourite restaurant in London 2009. This was the first year l'Etranger has won the regional title, after appearing in The Good Food Guide.The Wine Spectator just released their ratings for this years Wine Lists putting us as the second best listing in London!

Ibi Issolah Director

Ibi started as a part-time bartender at the Café Royal. He then applied for a position of chef de rang at Conran Restaurants' newly opened Le Pont de La Tour in the early 1990s.

Almost five years of working for Conran Restaurants followed, first at Pont and then at Butlers Wharf Chophouse, where he worked his way up to assistant manager.
Then an introduction to restaurateur Oliver Peyton led to him being offered arguably the best front-of-house job in London at the time, manager of the Atlantic Bar & Grill.

By early 2002,Ibi felt ready to open his own restaurant: L’Etranger.
Opal Bar followed, with Beauberry House becoming the third of the company's restaurants.

Jerome Tauvron Executive Chef

Between 1989 and 1995 under the watchful eye of Michel Rubod in Commentry (France) and Patrick Henriroux at La Pyramide Fernand Point, Vienne (France), Jerome started his career as a Commis de cuisine and then went on to work as Chef de Partie at Les Prés d’Eugènie with Michel Guerard and Pierre Gagnaire’s famous restaurant in St Etienne (France) before moving onto the famous Le Louix XV in Monaco with Alain Ducasse.

This was to be an invaluable experience and allowed him to perfect his already acquired talent.

Prior to his arrival in London, 2 years were spent at yet another famous restaurant Le Lion d’Or, Estivareilles (France), this time as Head Chef.

Jerôme then had an opportunity to work with Marco Pierre White’s at Quo Vadis and took the chance.
His talent did not go unnoticed and he soon found himself Executive Chef at Ozer and Head Chef at The Harrington Club, before his partnership began with L’Etranger.

Dorian Pryce General Manager

Having started working in the restaurant industry at a young age in 1988, Dorian quickly found that, like his father, it was in his blood! In 1998 Dorian took up a role at the renowned Atlantic Bar and Grill and soon realized that his passion for the hospitality industry had turned to ambition. It was here that he first teamed up with Ibi Issolah and after 5 years decided it was time to leave, following Ibi to set up L’etranger.

sangSang Keun Oh Head Chef

After working in Japan and Korea, Sang started as a sushi chef at L’etranger in 2006. He climbed up through the ranks of the kitchen, becoming sous chef, then senior sous chef and finally became head chef of L’etranger in October 2010.

josephJoseph De Maria Restaurant Manager

Originally from Adelaide, Joseph lived in Sydney for 3 years where he worked in two top Italian Restaurants: "Mezzaluna" and "Otto". He moved to London in 2003. First, Joseph worked for Rowley Leigh at "Kensington Place" as a head waiter and then for Gordon Ramsay at "Boxwood", also as a head-waiter. 

He then moved on to Open "La Petite Maison" in Mayfair as Assistant General Manager and worked another Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant: "Maze Grill” this time as Restaurant Manager.

Joseph joined L’etranger’s team in June 2011.

Grzegorz Fabis Assistant Manager

Greg first joined L’etranger in 2004 as head waiter. He then decided to take a new challenge and became Chef de Rang at the famous Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant Maze for a year.
He then returned to L’etranger as Assistant Manager this time, position he is occupying for now 4 years.

marikaokMarika Rossi Sommelier

After obtaining her diploma in Hotel & Catering management in Italy, Marika arrived in London in 2006. She started as Sommelier at Orrey and then joined Angela Hartnett’s team for the opening of Murano Restaurant.
She has joined L’etranger in October 2010 and now preparing the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

Geraldine Goudard Events Manager

After obtaining a Master Degree in Communication in Paris, Geraldine decided to challenge herself abroad. Living in London for now 4 years, she has gained solid experience in working for Paramount Restaurants as events coordinator, looking after the sales & events of the 70 restaurants of the group. She then joined L’etranger in September 2010 as Events Manager.
